MOODb.com is an open movie database, and anyone can submit information and thumbnail images.
To prevent copyright issues, limitations has been made.
Plots/synopsis
No plots/synopsis data are stored in MOODb at all. The reason is that there
is a big risk that a user copies a copyrighted text from another website,
which cannot be used without the authors permission.
Images
Small low-resolution thumbnails are available for illustrational purposes only, and should be considered fair use.
These thumbnails are very limited in size and quality, and is not usable as substitutes for the original work.
The normal thumbnail is 170 x 240 pixels, and always less than 25kb. A typical image is 15 kb.
The normal thumbnail can only be viewed locally on the users computer and only using Movie Organizer.
There are also two even smaller thumbnail versions available.
* 85 x 120 pixels, and around 2-3 kb in size.
* 42 x 60 pixels, and around 1.5 kb in size.
Any user that creates thumbnails must scan their own movie front cover.
Making thumbnails based on digital image files downloaded from other websites is not allowed, since someone else has the
ownership of that digital image file. Any thumbnail suspected to be based on an image taken from another site will be removed.
If you find a wrongfully added image in MOODb that you own the copyright to,
please send an e-mail and it will be removed instantly.
